Types of shading

Cell-shading

I have a few different kind of art styles. I have my usual celshading style. This is a clean way of shading. I really like doing this in my everyday art pieces.

This is a bit more of a difficult style for me to do in portrait pieces, but I’m always up for the challenge! I don't really do a lot of portraits anymore as I’ve grown to love full bodies and half body pieces.

Messy shading

This kind of shading is nice for doing portraits. It gives the character a lot of nice personality.

However, I’m not yet an expert in this kind of shading, meaning it'll take me longer to finish it. THIS DOES NOT MEAN I DON'T LIKE DOING IT! I love doing this style, i'm just not as familiar with it as I am with the others :).

This style is also possible on full and half bodies.

Combination shading

I also have a bit of a combination technique which I do with cell-shading and messy shading. Whilst this isn't really on purpose, I do tend to do it a lot. Even in the previous examples there's always a bit of combinations.

This is something I've been doing recently, and I’ve been quite into it.
